Vietnam appears set to relax foreign property ownership laws and expand the list of opportunities for investors. Whereas up to now foreign nationals were not permitted to purchase anything more serious than apartments, they might soon be allowed to acquire villas, including for subsequent letting.

Timber output in the Russian Far East could rise by a third, and timber processing more than double by 2016, according to Viktor Ishayev, the Far East development minister in the Russian government. The timber industry itself insists, however, that such a scenario would require a sharp rise in demand in the domestic or foreign markets.

Russian businessman Sergei Polonsky, wanted in Russia on fraud charges, plans to start a business in Cambodia, where he has spent almost four month behind bars. Ex-billionaire property developer revealed his plans during an interview to Russian radio station "Vesti FM". However, he hasn't specified what type of business he is going to start.
